The Supreme Court, somewhat surprisingly, denied cert to Teck Cominco Mining v. Pakootas. This means that the 9th Circuit decision holding a Canadian corporation liable under U.S. environmental laws for dumping waste on the Canadian side of the border will stand. The Court also denied cert to Jones v. Minnesota and Mann v. North Dakota Tax Commissioner.
